Hello. I’m Aili Whalen, a nonprofit fundraiser by day and a blogger in the early mornings before work. I spent my childhood and teen years training to be a professional ballet dancer in New York City until I realized that my body was not quite strong or flexible enough to sustain a professional career. I talk about those origins in my first few posts. A bit more on my background can be found on www.artistsmatter.com. After that, I blog about how even in advanced middle age and even though I no longer dance in classes or on stage, I still have a dancer inside me. I am coming to terms with what that means and how I can express it even now so that I can feel fully myself in my everyday life.
I invite you to join me on my journey and contribute your constructive thoughts and comments on my posts. It may be that you are also a former dancer. Or you may never have trained seriously in dance, or at all, but feel that there is a dancer inside you, too.
